This interactive map by The Lannang Archives documents reported variation in Lánnang-uè across the Philippines and Lánnang communities worldwide. It includes community-sourced examples of variation in pronunciation, vocabulary, word formation, grammar, fixed expressions, discourse particles, meanings, and patterns of use.

Each entry represents a reported example of usage. It does not mean that everyone in a given city, province, family, generation, or social group uses the same variant.

How to Use the Map Use the controls in the app to choose a category and variable. In Summary view, click a map bubble to see variant frequencies and percentages by location or social factor. Use Comprehensive view to inspect individual approved reports. Select a variant in Variant Profile to see typical users, contexts, social associations, confidence, and perceived spread. Click Generate Report to create a PDF-ready summary of the current view.

Contribute a Variant To contribute to the map, see the button above the app. Please submit one linguistic variant from one location per form. A variable is the broader feature, such as the word for “refrigerator” or a question pattern. A variant is the specific form you are reporting. Submitted entries do not automatically appear on the map. Each contribution is reviewed, checked, standardized when needed, compared with other reports, and curated by The Lannang Archives team before public display.
