Jasper YEUNG

Jasper Yeung, a second-generation Chinese, is currently studying in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Chiang Kai Shek College. A multilingual individual, who speaks English, Tagalog, Mandarin, and lastly Lánnang-uè or Hokkien as his mother tongue. Actively engaged in his community, Jasper serves as the Vice President for Sports and Recreation at the Manila Downtown YMCA Youth Club and previously held the role of Student Council External Vice President at his school. He is passionate about sports, including golf, basketball, and badminton.

Why The Lánnang Archives? Jasper’s commitment to preserving Lánnang-uè is deeply personal. Having witnessed the language’s decline and initially believing its preservation was unlikely, he found hope through The Lánnang Archives, discovered at the Lánnang Symposium. This inspired him to contribute to the Archives, showing his commitment to preserving his cultural heritage.
